Tempo will be moving Tempo Timesheets and Tempo Planner add-ons for JIRA Cloud to a new cloud technology in order to improve performance and product stability for JIRA Cloud customers.
Starting in January 2017, Tempo and Atlassian will begin migrating customers with a Tempo Timesheets and Tempo Planner cloud subscription to a new cloud environment.
Please note that there will be no changes to your subscription and billing. However, there will be changes to the way that data is stored. These changes are summarized below.
Starting in January 2017, we will start to migrate Tempo Timesheets and Tempo Planner for JIRA Cloud customers with active subscriptions to a new version of the add-on that is built on the Atlassian Connect framework. Atlassian Connect is a scalable platform for add-ons that supports rich integration with JIRA Cloud while improving performance and reliability.
How do I know if this affects me?
Go to the JIRA Administration page and click on Manage Add-ons. Under User-installed add-ons, check if you have Tempo Timesheets or Tempo Planner for JIRA Cloud installed and licensed.
Will this affect my bill for Atlassian Cloud?
No, there is no price change. Your billing will remain unaffected.
Will these changes apply to JIRA Server customers?
No, these changes do not apply to Tempo Timesheets or Tempo Planner customers that are using JIRA Server.
Will this affect any Tempo features for JIRA Cloud?
Some features will not be immediately available in the new version of Tempo Timesheets and others have been deprecated. We will attempt to plan our migration to mitigate the impact for the features you use, however you should consult the full list of changes to features on Tempo's site.
No, the same features will be available for current Tempo Planner customers before and after the migration. There will be minor changes to the Tempo Planner UI, Tempo Teams, and navigation.
How does this affect my data?
Worklogs are a native feature of JIRA and will continue to be stored within your JIRA instance by Atlassian. Additional Tempo features like plans, teams and accounts will be automatically migrated and stored by Tempo, in accordance with Tempo's Data Security and Privacy Statement. Additionally, worklog data will be synced between Tempo's service and JIRA Cloud, so a copy of your worklog data may be stored by Tempo on our servers.
The new versions of Tempo Timesheets and Tempo Planner are add-ons for JIRA Cloud. This means that by continuing to use Tempo, you accept that the add-on can:
- Read JIRA data
- Write JIRA data
- Delete JIRA data
- Administer JIRA projects
- Administer JIRA

How do I know when I have been migrated?
Once we have migrated you to the new version of Tempo for JIRA Cloud, your administrators will receive a notification regarding the migration when they log into JIRA.
What should I do if I do not want to be migrated?
Please contact us if you would like to opt out of this migration. Please note that if you opt out:
- Your current Tempo subscription will be removed from your JIRA Cloud instance.
- You may lose Tempo specific data like teams and planning data.
- You will be automatically unsubscribed from Tempo Timesheets or Tempo Planner for JIRA Cloud and you will no longer be billed after your current billing period.
