Using REST API Integrations

Required Tempo product: Tempo Timesheets for Cloud
Generates token for: Tempo REST API

As a Tempo user, you can quickly generate a token that lets you communicate securely with Tempo's REST API to interact with the data your permissions give you access to.

Note: Like your password, tokens are secret and associated with an individual username. They should not be shared.

To generate a token:

  1. Select TempoTempo settings or click the Gear icon on the Tempo sidebar.
  2. Under User Preferences, select API Integration.
  3. Click Get token to generate a token. You can delete the current token and generate a new one as needed.
  4. Click the copy icon to the right of the token to copy the token to the clipboard. You are then ready to make requests to the Tempo REST API.

Refer to the Tempo REST API Documentation for more information.

Once you have a token, you can use it inside the Authorization HTTP header as shown in the following example:

curl -v -H "Authorization: Bearer ${token}" "https://api.tempo.io/2/worklogs?..."

You'll see above that the version of the API is 2, and it is required.

Refer to the Tempo REST API Documentation for more information.
