Ensure you have the required admin permissions

Required Tempo product: Tempo Timesheets for Cloud or Tempo Planner for Cloud

Required permission: Jira Administrators  

Ensure that you have the Tempo administrators permission

You can only perform administrative tasks within Tempo if you have the Tempo administrators permission, so you must grant yourself this permission before you get started, Jira administrators are not granted this permission automatically. To do so, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Gear Icon.
  2. Select System.
  3. On the left menu bar, locate the Security section, and select Global permissions.
  4. Scroll down to Add Permission.
  5. Select the 'Tempo Administrator' permission from the Permission drop-down menu.
  6. Select 'jira-administrators' from the Group drop-down menu. Click Add.

Ensure that you have the Tempo Team Administrators permission

This permission is given to selected Jira groups. With it users get by default:

  • Permission to create, configure and delete teams. Users can also manage team permissions.
  • Permission to create, configure, browse and delete programs.

Tempo Team Administrators can grant themselves Approve Timesheets permission (see below) in Tempo Timesheets for Cloud. This permission does not allow you to move users between different types of workload or holiday schemes.

To grant the Tempo Team Administration permission:

  1. Click the Gear Icon
  2. Select System
  3. On the left menu bar, locate the Security section, and select Global permissions.
  4. At the bottom of the screen, under Add Permission, select Tempo Team Administrator and the Jira group you want to grant the permission to.
  5. Click Add to save.

 

Ensure you have the Tempo Account Administrator permission

This permission is given to selected Jira groups. With it users get by default:

  • Permission to create, configure, edit, and delete accounts

To grant the Tempo Account Administration permission:

  1. Click the Gear Icon
  2. Select System
  3. On the left menu bar, locate the Security section, and select Global permissions.
  4. At the bottom of the screen, under Add Permission, select Tempo Account Administrator and the Jira group you want to grant the permission to.
  5. Click Add to save.
